The Observed and the Observer

The Observed and the Observer

“Am I different from the content of my consciousness? If I am different from the thing I observe in myself, then there is a division between ‘me’ and the thing which I enquire into.

We’re going to go into a little more. I observe in myself anger. I am angry. Or I am greedy, envious. Is that envy different from me who is observing that reaction which I call ‘envy’? Or that envy is me; I am not different from that envy.

So, when I observe, is there a division between the observer and the observed? Then there is conflict. Then I try to suppress it, control it, or run away from it, or try to wish to change it.

But if the observer is the observed, then a totally different action takes place.

Are we dissipating the mystery of it? Because this is very important, right from the beginning. We are conditioned to the conflict of this division. We are conditioned to either suppress it, or analyze it or run away from it. We are educated, to accept this division. But when one looks into it very, very deeply – not very deeply, it’s fairly simple – one sees the observer is the observed, therefore, you eliminate all conflict.”

J. Krishnamurti

I think most people are aware today that everything, including us breaks down to energy. What they may not be aware of is the connection between the energy and that when something is observed it changes; hence showing interconnectedness. Again, including us.

The first time I came across viewing Unconditional Love as an Energy was in reading Masaru Emoto’s book on The Hidden Messages of Water. To put oversimply of this amazing book, he subjects different sources of water to the freezing process and then photographs the ice crystals while they freeze. When the water was exposed to Love, Loving words, beautiful music the ice crystals that formed were beautiful. If they were exposed to ugliness, the crystals formed ugly. He felt this was a message for humanity.

I believe Krishnamurti and Bohm were on their way to understanding that the energy that Bohm believed originated outside of Space and Time is in some way The Energy of Unconditional Love and we are part of it. I have come to understand that it is Trust in this simple truth that we are in some way a manifestation of the Energy of Unconditional Love that can heal us. So many true genius’s throughout history: Dabrowski, Krishnamurti,Jung,Descartes,Bohm, Nietzsche, Plato, Dionysus,..the list goes on , all questioning the duality of man and caring for man more so than just for himself. Wanting to leave things better for the generations that would follow them. Mavericks, courageous, showing a love for humanity with lifetimes spent in the pursuit of helping mankind. Noble. I believe it is this simple truth working through an Energy that IS NOT a human construct which makes the dual Whole and sets us free.

It is a process to understand that what you have become is a story you have told yourself. Is your story working across the board ? What is that story?

I have come to understand We are in essence Unconditional Love. If you don’t have unconditional love for yourself how could you possible have it for anyone else?
